That depends on the design house the countefeiters are replicating. I know of a woman personally who received 3 Kate Spade bags of her choice as a gift from the Kate Spade company for catching a ring of counterfeiters in San Francisco.
I would talk to the police detective about this. Don’t get yourself in any kind of danger. Remember, these people who have these Canal Street shops have underground/mafia ties. The counterfeiters have to answer to a boss who is not someone you want to mess with or know your identity.
